About Learn More English
Learn More English is a free companion to the ESL Curriculum Exchange. We help adult English learners practice the vocabulary from the lessons their class is already using.
Who it's for
Most of our clients are churches and volunteer ESL programs. Programs can be small — one teacher meeting a handful of students each week — or large, with a program director overseeing multiple classes.
Programs, classes, and codes
A program is your organization. A program has one or more classes, each with a teacher. Program directors can mint class codes for students and teachers to join. A single program can have many class codes so the director sees every class's practice, while each teacher sees only their own.
Team-based, not competitive
Many of our students come from cultures that value the group over the individual. Teachers can turn on a class team score that rewards participation — the more students in a class who practice, the higher the class's score goes. Individual scores are private by default; students opt in per class.
Students keep their progress
Students move between classes and sometimes leave a program. When a director removes a student, their account and progress are kept intact. The student can join another program later with a new code and pick up exactly where they left off.
Privacy
We collect only names and email addresses. Programs choose their own program name, and directors name their own classes. That's it — see the Privacy page for details.
What's next
Practice for existing ESL Curriculum Exchange materials stays free forever. In the future we may offer paid subscriptions for premium curricula, but the core experience your students already rely on will not change.
